Karaaha (disliked actions) of Salaat
- It is Makrooh to quit any emphasized Sunnah (متأكدة) of Salaat.
- Entering Salaat while one needs to urine or defecate (مُدافَعَة حَدَث).
- Entering Salaat in the presence of food while he is eager to have it.
- Leaning on anything without any legitimate reason.
- Standing on one leg without any legitimate reason.
- Not reading Taawwudh (أعوذُ باللهِ…) or Surah (a chapter from Quran)
- Reading Surah by a Ma’moom who hears Imam reading it.
- Reading loudly in the place where low voice is recommended and vice versa.
- Raising the head from the level of the back during Rukū.
- Not placing the nose during Sujood.
- Reading Qunoot in Salaat where Qunoot is not recommended.
- Imam allotting Dua for himself only.
- Lengthening first Tashahhud.
- Not making Dua after last Tashahhud.
- Turning the face without any need.
- Looking towards the sky during Salaat.
- Not covering head during Salaat.
- Doing only obligatory actions.
The places where Salaat is مَكْرُوه - Mataaf(مَطَاف).
- Road (طَرِيق).
- Graveyard (مَقْبَرة).
- Slaughter house (مَجْزِرَة).
- Places of disobedience (المعاصي).
- Worship places of disbelievers (مَعابِد الكُفَّار).
- Toilet.
It is Haraam to pray Salaat facing Qabr of a prophet, Waliy (وَلِيّ) or Aalim with the intention of getting Baraka.
