Know what to do regarding the doubts of Salaat
Doubts in Salaat
Doubt(شَكّ) in water and Wudu
The water should be considered as pure (Tahoor) in the following cases:
- Doubt whether change in the water is little (قَلِيل) or more(كَثِير).
- Doubt whether the change-maker is mixed substance(مُخَالِط) or neighboring(مُجَاوِر) substance.
- Doubt whether Najas-fallen and not-changed water is two Qullat (قُلَّتَان) or not.
Wudu is valid in the following cases: - Doubt in washing any organ of Wudu after fully completing Wudu.
- Doubt whether any nullifiers (مُبْطِلات) took place after a valid Wudu, such as the doubt whether he touched the skin of a woman or her hair.
Some other doubts: - One has to start from the beginning if any doubt comes during Wudu whether he made intention (Niyyat) or not.
- If one doubted during Wudu whether the water is fully applied to an organ (عَضُو)or not, then he has to wash that organ.
- If one doubted during Wudu whether he washed an organ or not, then he has to wash that organ.
Doubt in Salaat
While performing Salaat, if one doubted in one of the Rukn (elementary part) of Salaat whether he has done it or not, he should do it. If he doubts in some parts of a Rukn after the completion of that Rukn, then he is not obliged to do that Rukn. Three Arkaan are the exception: Niyyat, Takbeeratul Ihram and Salam.
For example, if one doubts whether he read Fatiha, then he should read it. If he doubted in some parts of Fatiha, -for example its second verse- after its completion, then he does not need to read Fatiha again.
If one doubted after Salaat with regard to any Shart or Rukn of Salaat other than Niyyat, Takbeeratul Ihram and Salam, it doesn’t invalidate his Salaat.
Single prayerer (Munfarid) and Imam should immediately do the Fard he doubted, if the doubt took place before reaching to the similar Fard in the next Rak’a. If the doubt took place after it, he should increase one Rak’a.
However, if one is sure that he missed a Fard or Shart in a Salaat, then he should resume that Salaat.
