Nullifiers(مُبْطِلاَت) of Salaat
Nullifiers (مُبْطِلاَت) of Salaat
Salaat is nullified by certain things. Some are the things that if one does them intentionally they will nullify Salaat. Some are the things that they will nullify Salaat whether one does it intentionally or unintentionally. Missing any Shart of Salaat is considered as the nullifier of Salaat.
Intentionally or unintentionally
Doing following things intentionally or unintentionally invalidates Salaat
- Intention of breaking (قطع) Salaat or having doubt whether to break it or not.
- Linking the intention of breaking Salaat with something rationally (عقلي) possible actions. (Such as thinking: If the bus arrives, I will cut my prayer).
- Doing clear improper action (فِعْل فَاحِش) even if is little such as jumping and intense beating.
- Knowingly doing too much consecutive actions by a heavy organ (example: leg) while he is not doing them in the status of شِدّة الخَوف or الضَّرُورَة (such as three consecutive footsteps).
- Doing act of playing (تَلاَعُب) even if it is very little.
- Thinking a certain Fard as Sunnah.
- Leaving (تَرْك) Niyyat or Takbeeratul Ihram.
- Pronouncing (نُطْق) more words. This is excused for one who suffers from permanent cough or other urgencies.
- Eating much.
Only intentionally
Doing following things intentionally invalidates Salaat: - Increasing a رُكْن فِعْلِي not as part of following an Imam such as increasing Rukū or Sujood.
- Leaving any Rukn other than Niyyat and Takbeeratul ihram. If one forgets any رُكْن other than these two, he has to rectify it.
- Pronouncing two consecutive letters or one meaningful letter without Quran, Dhikr or Dua.
- Arriving a little bit of anything to inside the abdomen.
Note: - Moving slight organs such as finger doesn’t break Salaat.
- If not excusable Najas touched when he is in Salaat and he suddenly pushed it out, this doesn’t nullify his Salaat. Same applies to one who covered his Awrah suddenly after it was revealed by wind.
